NEBRASKA STATE FAIR

4-H PREMIER SCIENCE AWARD - Did you know that your Decorate Your Duds project might include 4-H Science? Even your Photography, Woodworking, Entomology or Design Decisions project could include 4-H Science! 4-H Science can be a part of many of the projects you do in 4-H.

That means it could also be eligible for the new Premier 4-H Science Award at the Nebraska State Fair! The Premier 4-H Science Award is recognizing YOU for incorporating 4-H Science into your fair projects, even if it's not in a Science Engineering, or Technology project area.

If you can answer YES to any of these questions, and your project has qualified for the State Fair, then YOU could be the next 4-H Premier Science Award winner!

  • Does your project demonstrate a science, engineering, technology, or applied math concept or design?
  • Was your project created to solve or emphasize a problem?
  • Did you use new methods or improved technology to create the exhibit, or as part of the project?

To enter, contact your Holt-Boyd Extension Office to have your project included in Nebraska State Fair judging. If you used a special technique, or you would like to tell us more about how 4-H Science is used, fill out the Optional Short Answer Form and attach it to your project. Find a full description of the contest, scoresheets, and the short answer form below.

All State Fair projects will be recognized with a certificate attached to the exhibit and up to 20 top 4-H Science exhibits will receive a $100 cash award sponsored by the Nebraska 4-H Foundation.
